Test event

This August We where invited by DRR to their 40 Acre test track. It was a large facility, which housed an unusually large number of tracks. We found the facility by good directions and a large sign, which was only place there for this event. We drove into a large parking lot of hard dirt. A sandy path led off into a hilly section and emptied out into a large dirt bowl, reminiscent of the quarries we all rode in growing up. This was the secret test area in which DRR has been developing their product. We saw the area for suspension tests where they developed the Kids Soft suspension And THE ANTI REBOUND SHOCK SYSTEM.

It was 9 am and already the doughnuts were going fast. There was a line at registration and a group of children were watching a training video and getting instruction on the operation of the vehicles.

After the youths were fitted with Great looking DRR Inc. pants and jersey, they then were fitted for gloves and helmets. Next, off they went to pick out their new rides for the next two hours. All the ATVs' and Motocross Bikes were accounted for and even one of the off-road scooters.

Each child was required to run through one of four short training courses. Instructors assessed their skill levels and abilities at the end of each run.

After placing like riders together, the youths ranging from 6 ½ to 14 years of age were placed in the care of instructors. The youths were allowed to ride freely or could receive personal one on one training for traversing terrain like the professionals.

One of the groups was tearing up the bowl with the more experienced riders while another was teaching the basics of smooth acceleration and turning.

The kids were all having a terrific time and really using the DRR ATVs and Motocross Bikes the way they were meant to!

A tank full of gas and a couple of near misses later, a group of Happy, Hungry and smiling youths all arrived back at the tents. Chatting away as their parents listened on,

"That was AWESOME!" "Can I keep it?" "This ones mine, I love it!" Friendships were being made and high five exchanged.

This time a pile of cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets adorned the table while Hi-C and soda flowed freely. Everyone was excited but now it was time to learn from the experience.

After lunch everyone formed a classroom like appearance around a large white board.

First Lou and Bob DeCuzzi thanked everyone for coming out and gave each child a pair of their New Italian Designed professional riding gloves. This brought more hoots and hollers as they also told them everyone was welcome to ride out the day on the unit of there choice. Lou talked about the research that went into designing the ATVs and constant improvements that have been made to the units. There are over 16 unique features to each ATV, which set it apart from the rest. It was easy to see the quality that went into the units. These ATVs are adorn with expensive tires as opposed to the other companies who cut corners on their tires. All the changes to the units have come from consumer feedback and this day would be no different.

Now came the question and answer period.

It was up to Tom Berg to record all feed back from the riders under 4 different categories on the white board:

"Suspension", "Engine", "Handling", and "Overall riding comfort".

First they asked the youths how comfortable it was riding that long.

Most of the riders said things were fine. One little on said he had "arm pump" but that he could still ride this afternoon. Lou went into a technical explanation about the "Kids soft Suspension", With ANTI REBOUND Technology and why DRR Inc. is THE BEST in the industry.

Next came the explanation of safety features and CPSC regulations. As long winded as it can get, Bob DeCuzzi sure knows his stuff. He pointed out how important it is to keep your children safe and supervised at all times. The 50cc ATV riders wanted more speed and felt the engine has plenty to give except for the factory installed restriction for the youth ATVs. The 90cc 2 stroke riders were happy with the top speedy but asked about giving it a little more "pep" off the line. "Like the wheeling kind of pep" one youth said. "These units are for beginner to intermediate riders" they reminded the group of young riders. But true to form DRR showed it’s complete line of factory racing parts.
