Round 3 of the WORCS series kicks off in Lake Havasu, AZ . Track conditions would be the word of the wk end ! This was ageed by many to be one of the toughest races the ATV riders have seen in recent years!! The youth riders were tough and and fought off the whoped out track and the heat ,as temps soared well above 90.

Riders would once again see record entries ,and the wk end brought nearly 700 riders to Lake Havasu! Youth riders as well saw record numbers and added race teams  to WORCS.

Hetrick Team rider #8y Kelsey Lugan had a good wk end ,but had a rough start in her morning Shifter Open 8-15 class as she aimed for the holeshot ,she got tangeld up with two other riders ,Kelsey was basically one riders brace from keeping her and her quad from flipping. This caused some pain in her leg and Arm as they got wedged, but she shed a few tears and carried one with the race !!!
This must have gave her some determination ,as she was able to make up some time in the Off-Road and makes her way to the podium in the final lap to the #3!!
As the day draws on, so does her slight injury, she fought some swelling threwout the day and had a tough time hanging on for the Shifter Sport class. This races time slot was thrown back and hour, which also did not help riders battling the heat .The 40 minute offorad race was  very deep rutted out sections, high winds and very dry silt threwout the course.
Kelsey fought heat exhaustion this round and litereally had to be helped back to the pit after her race was over -but finished! WORCS racing is some tough racing, not only is the competition tough as times but the track mix of MX and XC can be very tough on the riders as well as there machines.
Kelsey placed 5th in the Sport 8-15 class.

Kelsey is currently in 4th place in point ,5 points behind 3rd.in Sport class
Kelsey is also in 4th place in Open shifter with 3 points under 3rd as well.

Next Round is held in Washington State at Pacific Raceway April 18-20th. This round will be tough as well as Wa. State has a lot of local riders racing this round who will be getting a lot of seat time this month preparing for the WORCS round . Kelsey will spend this month training and working on her physical training as well as planned for by MotoX Nutrition.

Kelsey would like to thank everyone for all your support. Her quad has ran GREAT! Kelsey is a role model for the future Youth and young Women riders and represents herself well with great sportsmanship at each event, making her way threw the gates with a hand shake to each and every youth rider. The Hetrick Team has been noted for there excellence in Sportmanship.

WORCS returns for Round 3 in Lake Havasu, Arizona Mar.21-23rd This round would prove to be the most challenging race this season, if not one of the most challenging EVER for the ATV series. The track and off-road sections got rough REAL quick and many riders fought the heat ,as the wk end brought very warm temps. reaching into the 90's .This was a shock to Washington,Utah and Idaho riders, who have not yet got to endure temps past 60 degrees yet . We seen many DNF's dues to broken chains, clutch and belts ,and rock damage to rotars
THIS RACE WAS TOUGH!
I had the opportunity to meet the newest Team-APEX USA was out there this year. We now have 3 team racing the WORCS series this year .

The more fortunate riders to race on Sat. morning was the Youth classes following the unclassified. Racing in more seasonable conditions with a little less track damage. We had a record entiry once again for most classes, youth classes was no exception! The most popular class, the sport 8-15... 27 riders on the line!

14 riders in the 71-90 mod class,#8y Brandon Lugan battles for top 3 aboard his DRR 90 and is second into the holeshot and held a tight hold to 2nd the entire race. Brandon had a very smooth and consistant race ,the quad seemed to be dialed in jetting, suspention worked well-good race !

The Sport 8-15 class gets a slight bump back later in the day, which means rougher track conditions and hotter weather. As I walked threwout the course, I could hear kids crying from how hard the track was beating them up. IT was agonizing and grueling this race for many and just simply not as fun this go -around. But all the kids were troopers and for those lucky enough to finish was glad when it was over!

Brandon lines up with 27 riders!! Gate splits due to over full gates, 14 riders are off -Brandon Lugan grabs a nice holeshot! Into the 1st set of jumps, a nasty kicker is formed and over the bars he goes and under the quad ! Everyone rushes to makes sure hes OK, Brandon gets back up and limps it threw the 1st lap -but is OK! After getting a moment to get back into the swing of thi8ngs, Brandon starts to run the course . Brandon was now on a mission to catch up and falls back to 11th  position in lap 1, to 3rd PLACE IN THE FINAL LAP!!!! WOW, now that’s determination!!!

Just as Brandon gets ready to approach the checker,100 feet from the scoring shoot, Brandon ran into a belt issue and would set him back barely finishing without a DNF.He was able to get his points and finishes out the day. This was very dissapointing for Brandon as he fought hard to make a podium finish. Brandon hopes to catch up on some points and regain his top 3 slot before the summer break. This was a set back moving from 2nd in points to 6th.
We would like to thank everyone supporting Brandon this season and to everyone who supports the DRR/Hetrick race Team .We have a strong Team in 2008 and took several podiums with the whole team over the wk end. Having races like this past wk end proves how talented our Youth riders really are

Next Round takes place in less an a month in the Wet state of Washington State at Pacific Raceway April 18-20.
This one will most likely be a mudfest.
YAY... Cant wait .. lol
